For animal shelters & rescues

Every animal's record, from intake to adoption.

CuraFauna keeps intake details, medical notes, vaccinations, costs and adoption paperwork in one place — and puts the number that matters most on the front page: how long each animal has been waiting for a home.

Taking on a small number of founding shelters now — you help shape it.

The usual setup

Most shelters run on a spreadsheet and a filing cabinet.

It works, right up until someone asks a question the paperwork can't answer quickly.

The record is in three places

Intake on a clipboard, vaccinations in a binder, costs in a spreadsheet. Pulling one animal's full history means walking the building.

Long stays go unnoticed

The animals that have been waiting longest are the easiest to overlook — they stop being new, and nothing surfaces them again.

Grant reporting is a scramble

Cost per animal and average length of stay are exactly what funders ask for, and exactly what nobody has time to reconstruct at year end.

What's inside

Built around how a shelter actually runs its day.

Not a database with a login screen — the workflow your team already follows, with the record keeping itself up to date as they go.

Intake in one pass

Photo, species, breed, microchip, tag number, intake reason and condition notes — captured once, at the door, on a phone or a desktop.

One profile per animal

Care log, vaccinations, medical and behavioural notes, documents and a full change history — all on a single page, in date order.

Length-of-stay tracking

Set a target — 60 days, 90, whatever your board uses — and every animal is measured against it, with milestones before the deadline, not after.

Vaccinations that chase you

Record what was given and when the next dose is due. One shelter-wide view shows what's overdue and what's coming in the next 30 days.

Cost of care per animal

Log food, medication, vet visits, grooming and supplies against the animal. The running total sits on the profile — no year-end reconstruction.

Adoption paperwork, generated

Record the adopter and CuraFauna produces the adoption certificate and a medical history summary as PDFs, drawn from the animal's own record.

The number that matters

See the animals who have been waiting the longest.

Length of stay is the metric shelters are judged on, by boards and funders alike — and the one that's hardest to keep in your head across a full kennel.

CuraFauna measures every animal against a target you set, and shows the tracker on the profile in plain language. When an animal is drifting past the mark, it says so before it becomes a statistic.

  • A target you set per shelter, not one we picked for you
  • Milestone markers so long stays surface early, not at the deadline
  • The counter stops on the adoption date — placed animals stay placed
  • Long-term residents can be flagged so they don't skew the picture

Adoption day

The paperwork writes itself.

Enter the adopter's details once. CuraFauna pulls the animal's vaccinations, medical notes and care history into two finished PDFs — an adoption certificate and a medical summary for the new owner to take to their vet.

Both are stored against the adoption record, so a copy is still there when someone rings up eight months later.

  • Certificate and medical summary generated from the live record
  • Your shelter's name and logo on every document
  • Stored privately, retrievable any time from the animal's profile
  • Animal status updates automatically when the adoption is recorded

Volunteers help without being able to break anything.

Four roles, enforced on the server — not just hidden buttons. Invite someone by email and they set their own password; deactivate them and access stops that day.

A full audit trail

Every intake, edit, status change, adoption and login is recorded with who did it and when — visible on each animal's profile.

Your data is yours alone

Each shelter's records are isolated at the server. No other organisation on CuraFauna can see your animals, adopters or staff.

Works where the animals are

Full use on a phone or tablet — record a weight in the kennel or start an intake at the door, without going back to the office.

Founding shelters

Get it built around how you work.

CuraFauna is early, and deliberately so. We're taking on a small number of shelters now and building the next round of features against their real workflow — not a roadmap written in a vacuum.

  • Direct line to the person building it
  • Your requirements go to the front of the queue
  • Help moving your existing records across
  • Founding-partner pricing, locked in
Questions

The things shelters ask first.

How much does it cost?

Founding shelters get partner pricing that stays locked in as the product grows. Because the feature set is still being shaped around the first few organisations, we'd rather talk about what you need than publish a tier list you don't fit. Book a demo and we'll give you a straight number.

Can we move our existing records in?

Yes. Most shelters arrive with a spreadsheet, and we'll help map it across — animals, intake dates, medical history and adoption records. That work is included for founding shelters.

What happens to our data if we leave?

It's your data. You can export your animal, adoption and medical records at any time, and we'll help you get a complete copy out if you decide CuraFauna isn't the right fit.

Do volunteers need their own logins?

Yes, and they should have them. Volunteer accounts are read-only, so they can look up an animal without being able to change a record — and because every action is logged against a person, shared logins would defeat the audit trail.

Does it work on a phone?

Fully. CuraFauna runs in the browser on phones, tablets and desktops with no app to install — which matters when the person recording a weight is standing in the kennel, not sitting at a desk.

We're a veterinary clinic, not a shelter. Can we use it?

Not yet, in full honesty. The records core fits both, but the workflow today is built around intake and placement rather than appointments and owned patients. Clinic support is in development — get in touch and your requirements will shape it.

Book a demo

See it with your own animals in it.

A short walkthrough — usually about twenty minutes. We'll show you intake through adoption, and you can tell us where it doesn't match how your shelter works.

  • About 20 minutesA walkthrough, not a sales pitch. Bring the awkward questions.
  • Bring your spreadsheetWe'll show you what your own records look like in it.
  • Straight answersIf CuraFauna isn't right for your shelter, we'll say so.

We'll only use your details to arrange the demo. No mailing list, no sharing.
